Networking giant Netgear has revealed a new expansion to its family of ProSafe Gigabit Smart Switches.
The company, which specialises in branded networking solutions, has introduced three advanced Smart Switches at Interop 2008.
The additions have been designed to deliver robust security and better traffic management and availability to growing networks in SMEs.
Additions include the ProSafe 24- and 48-Port Gigabit Smart Switch with advanced features, providing alternatives to fully-managed switches.
Sanjay Kumar, director of product marketing for switching products, said: "Growing small and medium businesses are continually faced with the challenge of maintaining and growing scalable, reliable and affordable network infrastructures to support an increasing array of advanced applications such as ERP systems, wireless and converged communications systems."
He added that security is an increasingly important need for small and medium-sized customers.
