Netgear launches new NAS device - NetgearNetgear has launched a new network attached storage (NAS) aimed at the home market.

According to Netgear its new ReadyNAS NV+ Desktop Network Storage device, has a multitude of robust features suitable for high-end server applications such as gigabit Ethernet, hardware RAID, system monitoring and built-in backup.

ReadyNAS provides out-of-the-box deployment with easy management and robust file serving and data redundancy, the company states.

"The industrial design and ultra compact form factor of the ReadyNAS makes it perfect for any home office or small business," the company adds.

The device comes with two 750GB hot swappable hard disc drives and has a maximum capacity of four.

It comes with its own case so does not requiring mounting in a server rack or server cabinet and the internal drives are configured for immediate use.

Netgear recently announced a sharp drop in profits, but the firm has done better than analysts expected during the current global economic downturn.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19149252-ADNFCR
