Netgear's Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) has been ranked in the top ten most innovative products of last year by PC World.
It is the second consecutive year that a Netgear product has been honoured in the PC World awards, coming in at number six.
The award category awards benchmark and breakthrough products which set the standard for innovation.
The PC World magazine article praised the EVA8000 because it was the only media-streaming device which is able to play protected files in both iTunes and Windows Media formats.
"Netgear's internet media player, the Netgear Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) busts through the digital rights management wall, and even allows you to check your email and watch YouTube videos on your television," the PC World article wrote.
"It makes life easier in a multiple-DRM world."
Commenting on the accolade, Vivek Pathela, vice president of product marketing at Netgear, said: We are truly excited to be named by PC World as one of the top ten innovative products of the year as our Digital Entertainer HD has been included with a select group of technology products that have fundamentally changed the way that consumers live, work and play."
