Netgear gearing up for Indian expansionNetgear Technologies is preparing to increase its growth in India, it has been revealed.

The company – a subsidiary of Netgear Inc – is beginning its second phase of growth in the city of Mumbai.

Having worked in India since 2004, the company has split its products into four categories: ethernet networking, broadband, storage and wireless networking.

In recent years, the company has seen phenomenal growth and now has registered sales of $728 million – up from $573 million in 2006.

Continuing its focus in India's small and medium-sized business market, the company is confident that it will be successful in the country.

Kerman Rana, managing director of Netgear in the Central Asia Pacific region, said: "While the rest of APAC is growing at 15 to 18 per cent, the relevant market for us is growing at 30 per cent."

Netgear, which already holds 30 per cent of India's market share, plans to increase its channel base and geographic spreadacross India.
