Netgear and Avaya join forces in Middle East

Netgear and Avaya join forces in Middle EastNetgear has joined forces with Avaya to deliver an advanced business-class internet telephony solution targeting the SMB market in the Middle East region.

The Middle East and Africa region has seen significant growth in demand for internet protocol (IP) telephony implementation in recent years, confirmed by a recent Avaya survey.

Netgear also recently took part in the MENA Business Partner Conference, organised by Avaya.

Here, Avaya introduced its Avaya Quick Edition to over 300 business partners from the region.

Research reveals around ten million IP phones were shipped in 2006 and the growth in IP interest shows no sign of letting up.

Khalid Khan, SME channel manager for the MENA region at Avaya, said: "IP telephony is steadily gaining popularity within the ever-growing SMB sector as the technology promotes efficiency and professional interaction with customers and callers while holding down administrative and financial costs.

"Through the convergence of our intelligent communications applications with NETGEAR's experience in business-class networking, regional customers can benefit from an end-to-end solution and an effective communication tool, which facilitates operational efficiency."
