Netgear has unveiled a new fully-configurable switch aimed at small businesses.
According to Netgear, its ProSafe Plus device comes equipped with a number of Green Ethernet features and offers users the chance to easily configure their networks themselves.
Maggie Wu, Netgear's product line manager for small and medium-sized business switching products, said: "Businesses are relying more heavily on their networks as they deploy more Ethernet-based technologies such as VoIP, as well as Internet-based applications."
She added: "To support this trend, Netgear has created this simple yet powerful network switch for businesses."
The switches are available in two high-speed versions, one with 16 ports and another with 24.
Both devices are server rack mountable and support gigabit Ethernet.
Earlier this month, Netgear unveiled its latest hardware-based spam filter.
The ProSecure STM is part of the company's range of hacking-prevention and spam email protection devices.
Netgear's ProSecure STM can also carry out URL filtering.
