A new switch has been announced by Electro Standards Laboratories that allows one RJ45 device to be shared among two others.
Cased in aluminium, the M9076 is controlled manually by a knob on the front panel, meaning it requires no power.
As well as being Cat5e complaint, the switch has a DIN rail mounting bracket, while, being manual, it can be easily integrated as a system component and is especially suited to process control systems.
Electro Standards Laboratories recently introduced a 16-channel RJ45 switch, the M9716, which can connect three devices at once. It too was manually operated and required no power. Another product, the M9074, provides a secure switch as it is manually operated by a key lock.
The American company specialises in custom-designed data network switches and data network cable assemblies, as well as off-the-shelf cables Cat5e and Cat 6 Cables, and has a well-established research and development department.
