Cisco is collaborating with the Weather Channel to create a high definition broadcast studio, it has been announced.
Dubbed the Weather Channel HD Studio, the studio will include top-class art projection screens, graphics and weather systems.
It will also include Cisco core and emerging technologies to increase reliability and protection within the broadcasting environment.
Cisco's involvement has seen it also create Web content offering a virtual tour about the network upgrade.
The project will feature Cisco switches in the infrastructure backbone, as well as a security monitoring system.
Diane Dudeck, senior director of marketing at Cisco, said: "We congratulate The Weather Channel on offering its viewers weather information in a state-of-the-art, rich high definition format.
"High Definition changes the television viewing experience and Cisco is pleased to be an integral part of this new era in TV viewing, by providing a turbulent free network infrastructure."
