3Com Corporation now sits at the top in the market share table for enterprise stackable switch ports and router units in China.
This is according to IT market research firm IDC, which also places 3Com at number two vendor worldwide in enterprise and SMB Ethernet switching ports and enterprise routers.
Its success has been put down to its ability to offer customers more flexibility investment protection of or their networking equipment.
3Com's joint venture with Huawei Technologies H3C is also doing well in China, having seen significant success in the past four years.
H3C, which became solely owned by 3Com last year, is number one in stackable switching ports, top for mid-range router shipments and revenue and also number one in Layer 2 unmanaged switching revenue.
Edgar Masri, president and CEO of 3Com, said: "These independent analyst reports clearly demonstrate that 3Com's commitment to developing a complete portfolio of high-quality, low-cost switches and routers is rapidly winning support from customers around the world.
"In the highly competitive network infrastructure market, it is essential that vendors clearly differentiate their offerings. Not only does 3Com have a significant price-performance advantage, but our growing portfolio of OSN- and OAA-enabled products stands out from the crowd."
