HP has lifted the covers on a new IPv6-capable networking device which the company is aiming at small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The firm's ProCurve 2520 switch is a Layer 2 Gigabit model that comes with either eight or 24 ports.
It is capable of supporting either copper or fibre optic cables and is fibre over Ethernet compatible.
The eight port model comes in a fan-less configuration, while the 24-port devices has variable speed fans for adjustable levels of power consumption.
Kathy Chou, head of HP's small and medium-sized business strategy, said: "SMBs are the pulse of the economy, and HP is partnering with SMBs to provide a boost as the economy rebounds."
As well as the introduction of the new switch, HP has decided to refresh its Total Care range with the introduction of the HP ProLiant ML110 and DL120 G6 servers, two new Pro 3000 Series desktop PCs and its new LE1711 LCD monitor.
Earlier this month, HP launched a new range of converged data centre solutions as well as introducing its Data Centre Smart Grid, which gives chief information officers the capability to monitor energy consumption at server rack level.
