3Com switches praised

3Com switches praisedThe Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture has praised 3Com's switches for their manageability.

Ross Crabtree, manager of information technology for the establishment, said an agreement had been reached during renovation works to install an integrated voice and data network-based on voice over internet protocol and Ethernet technology, TMCnet reports.

After scrutinising several systems Mr Crabtree claims 3Com's solution was more manageable and easy to use than those of the competition, with the 3Com switches and other elements impressing at an affordable price.

"I liked the fact that the phone system, the network switches, and the intrusion prevention system were all easily manageable and full-featured," he told the news provider.

Mr Crabtree added the solution is robust yet user-friendly enough for a one-man IT operation to handle, meaning small and medium-sized business can save money.

In other news, 3Com has signed a strategic business relationship with GTower, the latest investment initiative from Goldis and the only office in Singapore to be rated Grade A+ +, CIOL reports.
