Virtual Instruments introduces new patch panel - Structure Cabling

Virtual Instruments introduces new patch panel - Structure CablingVirtual Instruments has announced a new patch panel system that aims to optimise application availability, increase infrastructure utilisation and maximise application performance.

The company's SANInsight 10G Fibre Traffic Access Point (TAP) Patch Panel System can work in storage area network (SAN) environments and can support existing fibre-optic physical infrastructures.

It can also facilitate deep visibility into the virtualised IT infrastructure, dealing with the growing data volumes and performance requirements in the industry.

Mark Urdahl, chief executive officer at Virtual Instruments, said: "The SANInsight TAP Patch Panel System was designed to help our customers optimise the availability of their SANs and reduce the business risk of deploying virtualised mission-critical applications.

"With TAPs deployed on every Fibre Channel link as a best practice, enterprise data centre managers can rest assured that the availability, utilisation and performance of their virtualised infrastructure will be optimised."

CommScope recently introduced the Systimax 360 UHD fibre optic solution, including patch panels and fibre cables, which is capable of supporting 864 fibres in a 1U space.
