Cisco has unveiled its latest switches, with the aim of helping customers accelerate business growth and increase flexibility.
The new Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X are flagship Cisco switches that provide enterprise-class stackable and standalone solutions with ten gigabit ethernet, full power over ethernet on all ports and a flexible smart uplink module.
Integrated StackPower also means that, in the event of power supply being disrupted, business-critical application operability is maintained while lower-priority devices, as defined by the user, are cut off.
Rob Soderbery, senior vice president and general manager of the Cisco Ethernet Switching Technology Group, said: "Switching and routing are the foundation for innovation that will bring the next generation of the internet to life.
"Cisco's strategy is to deliver greater value within its core networking offerings and, in turn, provide customers with a more cohesive, architecturally sound IT infrastructure to support the new Internet."
At the other end of the networking market, Cisco recently announced that it will be entering the portable data centre sector, where fully equipped rack cabinets are sent to customers in shipping containers, ready for deployment.
