An increasing call for electronic alarms and other related products is strengthening demand for structure cabling, it has been reported.
Alarm systems are now being linked to home automation systems to facilitate their control from outside the house, Daniel Rosenberg of security consulting firm Global Security Consulting told msnbc.
Meanwhile, innovative businesses are promoting the use of structure cabling by offering an all-in-one service to new homes which dispenses with the need to use separate lines for phone, cable, DSL and VoIP applications.
As a result of these developments, it is now possible to access some home security systems and arm and disarm alarm systems via mobile phones and the internet.
The ability to check who entered a home - and at what time they did so - from a remote location is now also viable.
