The new range of network cabling standards launched in the US earlier this year give manufacturers a handle on the latest market trends, it has been claimed.
According to No Jitter, the American National Standards Institute, firms and organisations responsible for new standards have a duty to reaffirm and revise their documents or rescind them.
With this in mind the latest cabling standard update, the 568-C Family of Standards: An Update and an Overview, has been made available by cabling firm Siemon.
The ANSI/TIA-568-C standard was introduced in February this year and marks the first update to the document since 2001.
Part of the update was to divide the standards document into four sections, as well as expanding the documentation to incorporate situations that had hitherto been left unaddressed such as Cat6 cable issues.
Meanwhile, the Telecommunications Industry Association has proposed a new global cabling standard for telecommunication infrastructure used in the world's healthcare sector.
