Capital investment firm MTI Partners has spent £500,000 on Lancaster-based cabling company CableSense.
The investment was made through the UMIP Premier Fund.
CableSense has developed a new structured cabling system that can be used to manage large-scale projects.
John Kelly, CableSense founder and technical director, told Crains Manchester Business: "MTI's investment provides a fantastic platform for CableSense to deliver its product to the market and prove its business model."
"Both MTI and UMIP have worked hard to help us put the corporate structure and commercial foundations behind this business, and with our technical approach I'm confident that we can fill a substantial gap we've identified in the market."
Earlier this year, CableSense received a £100,000 Proof of Principle grant from UMIP.
According to SearchDataCenter.com, cable management is a state of mind.
Greg Rottman, assistant director in the IT lab at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Centre, told the website that cabling contractors need discipline.
