Structured cabling market to expand further - Structured Cabling

Structured cabling market to expand further - Structured CablingThe demand for broadband internet will drive forward growth in the structured cabling market, it has been reported.

Research by Global Industry Analysts has shown that the market will be worth over 5.4 billion by 2015 with China and India proving to be fruitful grounds, according to Cabling Installation & Maintenance.

This comes despite the perceived growth of the wireless market, although the study does accept that it will eventually gain the upper hand over structured cabling.

The US and European markets will continue to dominate the industry although the Asia-Pacific will be the fastest growing, expected to account for $1.3 billion this year alone, the report claims.

Among the companies analysed in Structured Cabling Systems: A Global Strategic Business Report are Cisco, D-Link and CommScope.

General Cable recently introduced a range of halogen-free cables that could help structured cabling systems become safer as they do not give off toxic emissions when on fire.
