Network equipment manufacture Siemon has introduced an innovative patching technology.
The company's zero-unit patching and cable management devices are aimed at users of Siemon's VersaPOD Data Centre Cabinet Solution.
An update to one of the firm's existing solutions means that data centres can benefit from zero-unit patching capabilities for end of row and stand-alone server racks and server cabinets.
Vertical zero-unit panels can be used to add an additional 16 units of mounting space to existing cabinets as well as reducing the burden of cable management for both copper and fibre optic leads.
The technology allows data centre operators to eliminate cable obstructions and improve network equipment heat dissipation.
Earlier this year, Siemon introduced a new range of RJ45 patch cords.
The company's Z-Max cabling solution offers users a smart plug and play design, but also allows transmission characteristics to be manually tuned.
"The Z-MAX cord's PCB-based design also enables its unique, high-performance Zero-Cross termination method," the company said.
