Comtel expects VoIP to boom - TelephoneCabling infrastructure contractor and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) provider Comtel claims it is set to grow by 100 per cent during its second year, it has been reported.

Michael Lauria, president of the firm, chose to move into VoIP after Ethernet and standard copper phone cables sales began to plummet, according to Business Solutions.

He claimed that it is difficult to imagine the turnaround the sector has experienced in recent times.

Mr Lauria told the news provider that one of the major difficulties for engineers making the switch to VoIP installations is that they have to get to grips with new technology, such as servers, server racks, switches and routers.

He added that at Comtel, many phone engineers were used to handling simple analogue phones and had little experience setting up and explaining the software required to use VoIP.

According to VoIP-news.co.uk, a growing number of education centres are using VoIP.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19143929-ADNFCR
