International network equipment manufacturer Belden has installed more than a million metres of structured cabling at Sky Italia's headquarters in Milano Santa Giulia, it has been reported.
The Belden cabling technology will be used for high definition data transmission and was chosen for its proven performance and reliability, according to 4rvf.
Sky requires absolute signal integrity and no downtime at the new facility, which incorporates studios, broadcasting suites and administration offices, the news provider states.
Marco De Malde from Sony, which managed the network equipment installation, told 4rvf: "Thanks to their extensive international experience in major events and installations, we found that the Belden team was very well qualified to deliver practical solutions."
According to Sony, tests conducted on Belden's coaxial cables had excellent results, supporting high transmission frequencies and offering simple connectivity.
Belden recently expanded its Brilliance fibre optic lead range with the Maxibend Tactical Fibre Optic Cables.
