A new Cat5 cable extender has been introduced by ATEN International.
The VE066 Mini-Cat5 DVI Extender allows users to increase the distance between a display and video source devices by as much as 20 metres.
ATEN International's device is compatible with both Cat5e and Cat6 leads and is suitable for use with switches and splitters.
Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International, said: "In the visual information era, it is becoming more and more important to be able to transfer signals over long distances with excellent image quality."
"Our latest VE066 extender in compact housing is a perfect solution both for home users and for small companies," he added.
Earlier this year, Key Digital introduced a new digital cabling extender, which is aimed at users wanting to transmit high-definition digital video signals.
The firm's new Fat Cat technology supports Cat7, Cat6 and Cat5 leads and offers transmission distances of between 45 and 85 metres.
