Data rack issues resolved by ADC Krone

Data rack issues resolved by ADC KroneThe Queensland Government's Department of Natural Resources and Water (NRW) has solved its networking problems by utilising ADC Krone's HighBand 25 cross connect solution, it has been revealed.

Office Technology Services (OTS), the department's network support team, recommended the solution following consultation with NRW's regional IT officer in Rockhampton, Bob Godin.

"OTS had used the ADC Krone HighBand 25 solution with Category 6 cabling many times before and found it to be very sound, so we knew it would be right for us," Mr Godin commented.

"By relying on network support's previous experience we could eliminate the time-consuming evaluation process and go straight to working directly with ADC Krone."

The NRW's network performance had been hampered by the fact that the department's data centre was located in a cupboard - which posed a security risk - and by the plethora of cables in the data racks which made the maintenance of phones and data particularly difficult.

Furthermore, NRW needed to upgrade its Category 5e cabling to Category 6 cabling to improve network speed to one gigabit.

All of these problems were solved following the installation of ADC Krone's HighBand 25 cross connect solution, however.
