The IT and telecoms sector is likely to remain volatile during 2012, it has been claimed.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), market uncertainty will affect many organisations’ investment plans, but growth is still expected.
Business leaders are likely to face difficult investment decisions, the firm claimed – and some may delay spending on data cabinets and server racks.
To maintain growth, businesses will be looking to leverage ICT in newer and more robust ways, the firm added.
"As we head into what looks to be a turbulent 2012, the only certainty is uncertainty," said Claus Mortensen, principal for emerging technology research at IDC.
"With consumers and workforces becoming smarter, more affluent and demanding, companies will need to match their efforts with intelligent spending to avoid getting their fingers burnt in case another world-wide crisis hits."
