Businesses looking to increase their employees' productivity can use the new Face Time Communications USG220 to put a stop to instant messaging and peer-to-peer downloads.
The new device, which is a modified Dell server rack, provides added security not just against hackers but against legal threats surrounding illegitimate file sharing.
Face Time Communication's USG220 connects directly to a network switch and can monitor both network and internet traffic.
The device, which is based on the Dell PowerEdge 1U server rack, is powered by a 2.66GHz Intel Zeon 5150 processor, has 2GB of RAM and an 80GB Western Digital SATA hard disk.
It also has two gigabit Ethernet cableconnectors and has built-in web management software.
Additionally, the USG220 can monitor email messages, block internet traffic, filter search engine requests and deal with pop-ups and spyware websites.
Face Time claims: "[The internet] is dominated by Web 2.0 applications such as IM, P2P, social networking, voice, and video."
