The two most persistent problems facing network engineers in data centre environments are noise and heat, it has been claimed.
However, the problem is set to be solved with the introduction of new sound proof data cabinets & server racks.
According to UCoustic, its 9120 series of soundproofed server racks eliminate up to 28.5 decibels of noise and can dissipate up to 7.2kW of heat.
Acousti Products said that the spacious internal dimensions of the racks are perfectly suited to housing cable in an orderly and easily accessible fashion.
Ucoustic also offers customers a washable dust-filter, which Acousti Products claimed will boost the shelf-life of the machines and reduce maintenance costs in the long term.
The server cabinets are available in 12, 24, and 42-unit varieties weighing 109.5, 166.5 and 275 kg respectively.
Earlier this week Fujitsu unveiled a range of half-height servers which can be used to save on storage space.
