International server rack and server cabinet manufacturer Firelock has introduced a new data centre storage solution that can protect mission critical network equipment against a number of threats.
According to the firm, a number of companies now offer mobile shipping containers which come with pre-configured server equipment, but many fail to offer adequate protection.
So Firelock has created the Secure Agile Vault Environment (SAVE), which is aimed at companies looking for a mobile, but secure, data storage solution.
The company said: "This protective structure ensures the interior of the vault will remain below 125-degrees F for at least two hours, even if temperatures outside the vault reach 2,000-degrees F. As every data centre operator knows, heat is the enemy of sensitive IT equipment."
The SAVE product incorporates water-cooled doors, which are mounted to the back of server cabinets and cool any computing equipment's exhaust air before it is distributed around the server room environment.
According to a new study by Launchpad Europe's IT Security Index 2009, security is still the biggest concern for data centre operators.
