Siemon has unveiled the VersaPOD VP2, an upgrade to the previous cabinet aimed at data centres.
With the same 760mm width as the original, there is room for 24U of mounting space while the end-of-row panels provide an additional 8U of vertical space.
The cabinet is also configurable to a variety of equipment and layout and the 1200mm depth supports deep devices such as Cisco's Nexus 7000 switch.
By keeping cable channels away from air intake and discharge areas, thermal benefits are also provided as airflow disruption is kept to a minimum, making the data cabinet ideal for high-density centres.
Dual-hinged front doors open from both the left and right while split rear doors can also be independently opened or closed. Alternatively, all doors can be removed to provide an open rack solution.
As well as racks and cabinets, Siemon also manufactures cabling solutions for data centres.
The company recently introduced the SFP+ copper cable assemblies, a solution that promised to be cost-effective while providing high-performance connections for short reach links.
