Extreme Networks has unveiled it's Open Fabric data centre switches and chassis for cloud applications.
The company says the new top of server racks switches are designed to provide high performance, low latency and are energy efficient.
Open fabric data centre products leverage the ExtremeX operating system and emphasise wire-speed switching of virtual machines.
The offerings include a 20Tb Black Diamond X8 chassis and the Summit X60 series top-of-rack switches.
"A sweet spot of the cloud and data centre transition will be the migration of virtualised servers from 1GbE to 10GbE, where much denser and highly efficient network architectures are required," said Jon Oltsik, principal analyst for the group.
"With… Open Fabric, featuring the BlackDiamond X8 and Summit X670 switches, Extreme Networks offers solutions that shift performance dynamics to a whole new level while also addressing what will be a very common need."
