A DataSpace data centre in Russia has become the first in eastern Europe to be awarded Tier 3 facility certification by the Uptime Institute, those in the market for server racks may be interested to learn.
Being a Tier 3 establishment means that it will never need to be shut down for maintenance or to replace cooling or heating equipment.
David Hamner, chief executive officer of DataSpace, described the accreditation as an "important milestone in the modernisation of Russia's infrastructure".
"As the first certified facility in Russia and eastern Europe, this is a landmark accomplishment in the region," he stated.
The data centre, which may utilise 48 port patch panels, was praised by the Uptime Institute Certification team for being "one of the best prepared projects" that it had encountered.
Earlier this month, cloud infrastructure provider Lumison announced that it had acquired managed hosting and co-location firm DediPower and its three Tier 3 data centres in the US.
