Leading provider of storage solutions and networking equipment Rackable Systems has unveiled a range of quad-core servers.
The new devices will use AMD's quad-core Opteron HE and SE processors, which the company claims allow it to continue delivering the industry's most cutting-edge energy-efficient servers.
Rackable Systems notes that the new servers will be aimed at businesses' mission critical operations and will soon be available in built-to-order data centre and enclosure configurations.
"AMD and Rackable Systems continue their tradition of innovation...delivering superior energy-saving technology at a time when customers are feeling the increased strain of tightening budgets," said Patrick Patla, vice-president and general manager of the Server and Workstation division at AMD.
Rackable Systems is a leading provider of environmentally-friendly server racks and network attached storage solutions.
The company reduced its workforce by 15 per cent in the final quarter of last year as a result of the impact of the global economic crisis, but expects annual revenue to be in the region of $245 to $250 million (£180 million).
