Server manufacturer QNAP Systems has unveiled two new high-performance four-drive network attached storage devices aimed at entry-level enterprises and data centre customers.
The new servers have a storage capacity of up to 8TB when used in conjunction with new 2TB drives, and come with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of DDRII memory.
QNAP Systems' TS-439U-RP and TS-439U-SP models are both server rack mountable, take up 1U of space, and are compatible with a number of operating systems.
Meiji Chang, chief executive officer of QNAP Systems said: "QNAP means business with these exciting new models.
"While our competition tries to sell business customers a consumer-level NAS server, QNAP delivers true business-class NAS servers with best in class performance and features."
The TS-439U-RP differs from the other four-drive model in that it has a redundant power supply, which kicks in if the other fails, dramatically boosting reliability.
Recently, Server Technology launched a new power distribution unit and management solution which also monitors server room temperature and humidity.
