Server racks are likely to be in demand as the worldwide server industry is continuing to perform well.
Shipments grew 27.1 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2010 and revenue was up 14.3 per cent, according to the latest figures from Gartner.
"There remained some regional variations, but all geographies demonstrated improving market conditions," commented Jeffrey Hewitt, research vice-president at Gartner.
Regionally, eastern Europe saw the most significant growth in server shipments with a 46.9 per cent increase and also recorded the highest vendor revenue growth of 26.2 per cent.
Company-wise, HP led the market, with Dell and Fujitsu also in the top five worldwide, and the x-86-based server hardware platform was the primary driver.
Strong results are also expected in the security software market this year, according to Gartner, with firms prioritising data security.
