Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can benefit from reduced server downtime following the introduction of new technology, it has been claimed.
According to IWI Hosting, server downtime impacts on all companies but the impact is amplified if a business is smaller.
Research by IWI Hosting found that on average small businesses have 16 hardware resets every year and has developed a new service to cope with this fact.
Its new server range can be reset remotely using the company's online hosting software while its dedicated web servers offer customers permanent mouse and keyboard control.
The company claims to provide cheap switches to every customer, new servers with the latest hardware and internet security for all its networking equipment.
Meanwhile, Dell announced last month that it was set to incorporate Cisco switches in its existing enterprise server and storage solutions.
The company will install Cisco Catalyst 4900 top-of-rack switches in its EqualLogic Storage Area Networks.
