New server rack options from Lenovo - Data and Server Racks Lenovo has introduced some new servers that aim to be versatile and provide value for money.

The ThinkServer RD230, RD240 and TD230 are the firm's first products aimed squarely at the value dual processor server market, according to eChannelLine.

While the RD230 is a 1U server rack solution, the RD240 is a 2U rack server and the TD230 is a tower option.

Tom Ribble, director of ThinkServer product marketing at Lenovo, explained how the new products could find a customer base.

He told the news provider: "These products are aimed to be versatile across a number of customer sets. They will be valuable for smaller businesses. We are also seeing traction and interest in the public sector, even larger companies with a lot of remote offices. Manageability plays with any of those.

"You get more bangs for your buck. But they also offer the Think Brand, as well as quietness and ease of use."

Fujitsu recently unveiled the Primergy RX900 S1, an eight-socket rack server offering reliability, availability and scalability.
