The new Netgear ReadyNAS 2100 server rack mountable networking device is packed with features but is still a noisy product, it has been claimed.
According to IT industry expert PC Pro, the new ReadyNAS 2100 is a marked improvement over its predecessor the 1100 and incorporates a lot more backup features.
PC Pro claims that the new server provides users with a powerful and upgradable unit which offers easy access and a good build quality.
A highlight, the magazine states, is Netgear's Vault portal backup service, which has the option of data encryption and allows end users to select the amount of bandwidth they want to hand over to backup tasks.
"The 2100 offers big improvements over its predecessor... but if you want peace and quiet then we recommend the ReadyNAS NVX, which is almost silent," PC Pro reviewer Dave Mitchell said.
Last month, Netgear launched a new range of digital switches aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
