Panduit has introduced a new physical infrastructure management system which it says is one of a kind.
The system automates the documentation of physical layer connectivity and gives good management of patch-field without needing further rack space.
Dubbed the Panduit Panview iQ System it brings together all management hardware into panel managers and expansion modules.
The design of the patch panel – which includes a functional keypad interface – will allow companies to conserve their rack space and scale their installations.
Its software also carries out a number of performance functions including documentation of network connectivity, asset management and reporting, change notifications and work order management functions.
Steven Robb, vice president and general manager of LaSalle Solutions, which is currently integrating the product, said: "In today's complex IT environments, we see Panview iQ's ability to manage the assets and move/add/change activity key to a successful operation--not to mention the advantages to compliance and security."
