New Dell servers address efficiency issues - Intelligent Server Cabinet/Rack SolutionsDell has created a new range of PowerEdge servers designed with efficiency and virtualisation in mind.

The company claims that its Unified Server Configurator, which is powered by a Lifecycle Controller, is an industry first in terms of embedded systems eliminating data centre complexity.

Dell has also included its ProManaged and ImageDirect technology to help automate server deployment, saving IT contractors time.

The network equipment manufacturer's 11th generation PowerEdge M610, M710, M1000e servers use Energy Smart, which aims to reduce power consumption without hindering performance.

Meanwhile, Dell's R610 and R710 servers, which are mountable in server racks and server cabinets, were recognised as the winner of the 2009 If Germany Product Design Award.

Brad Anderson, senior vice-president of the Enterprise Product Group at Dell, said: "Dell is creating technology that greatly simplifies IT throughout its entire life cycle to make our customers more efficient."

Dell has announced that it is launching a range of services aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, including a pilot scheme in London.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19124527-ADNFCR
