Hewlett Packard (HP) may be installing new server racks in the coming months as it plans to expand its data centres as part of the growth strategy for its private cloud computing business.
Jeff Carlat, director of industry standard servers and software marketing, told V3 that the firm has been working closely with Microsoft to "deeply integrate and tune our collective technologies together".
Ian Jagger, the firm's worldwide technology marketing manager, commented: "Most enterprises are looking to do something with their datacentre platforms [and so] they need to reflect speed, efficiency and reliability," he said.
The firm revealed that it will be introducing a pair of cloud-focused systems to its VirtualSystem platform and that these will enable it to run virtualised databases and communications platforms.
This comes after head of networking at the company Bethany Mayer told Network World that Hewlett Packard is a market leader when it comes to data centres and server racks.
