The BCS Data Centre Specialist Group (DCSG) has collected the Outstanding Contribution to the Data Centre Sector at the Data Centres Europe (DCE) 2009 Awards held in London.
BCS was presented with the accolade in recognition of its work on the analysis of data centre metrics, its contribution to the EU Code of Conduct for data centres and for its effort to raise the profile of issues such as the carbon reduction commitment.
Commenting on the award, Zahl Limbuwala, chair of the group, said: "I'm delighted that the work of the DCSG has been recognised through this prestigious award."
Meanwhile, Ashley Davis of the DCE Awards said: "This past year there has been much development in the data centre industry; and one area that affects all of us is the EU Code of Conduct."
The fifth annual DCE Awards were attended by more than 300 executives in the industry despite the economic downturn.
