PMC-Sierra launches Tachyon QE8 Fibre Channel protocol

PMC-Sierra launches Tachyon QE8 Fibre Channel protocolA new class of networked storage systems is being made available by PMC-Sierra, a broadband communications and storage semiconductor provider.

The company has announced the release of its new PM8032 Tachyon QE8 Fibre Channel protocol controller, website Computer Business Review reports.

The product increases the performance of existing solutions and adds further features, such as multiple outbound read requests, PCI-Express 2.0 Gen-II and advanced 8GB/s serial link monitoring.

Tachyon QE8 is interoperable with PMC-Sierra's 4Gbit/s fibre channel products and the company's SAS/SATA protocol controllers.
