Minicom reveals new PX Serial

Minicom reveals new PX SerialMinicom Advanced Systems has announced the launch of its PX Serial, the latest addition to its range of IP gateways.

The company is a leading manufacturer for remote server management and the new serial capability enables remote access to serial targets in server rooms and data centres.

The RS232 device allows remote users to access and control individual serial devices such as headless servers, managed network switches, routers and serially-based power management devices.

Benny Hayumi, KVM product manager for Minicom, said: "The addition of the serial capability makes the PX IP gateway the all-round winner for data centre managers and server-room administrators wanting to increase the power and reach of each IT technician.

"It provides unlimited target availability without the delay of 'blocked' access. And its single port configuration makes it ideal for data centres running high volumes of user-server traffic that want to add devices as demand grows. Now any number of IT technicians can simultaneously access and control any number of targets, both serial and KVM."
