The online property portal Rightmove.co.uk has chosen data centre services company ControlCircle to provide it with data centre services and intelligent border gateway protocol connectivity.
Rightmove, which claims to be one of the "pioneers" of using the web to advertise property, said systems availability and resilience is crucial in its business due to the sheer amount of traffic visiting its site.
Previously Rightmove operated out of two data centre sites, one of which was active and one of which served as a backup. But it has now switched to a three data centre model to reduce complexity and achieve optimum efficiency.
It has selected ControlCircle to act as its primary data centre services partner and to provide support in two of its three data centre sites containing data and server racks.
Luke West, Rightmove's technical operations manager, said: "Given we now have three data centres it made far more sense and less hassle to work with a specialist like ControlCircle to consolidate some of this operational overhead."
ControlCircle has been named as a Cisco Select Certified Partner with server message block specialisation.
