Rackable Systems launches four-way serverRackable Systems, a company which provides Eco-Logical servers and storage products for large data centres has launched its new four-way server.

Based on the dual and quad-core Intel Xeon 7200 and 7300 series processors, C4108 is available now.

The product can support up to eight 2.5" hot-swap SAS hard disk drives with optional hardward Raid, as long as there is solid internal storage functionality.

Tony Gaughan, chief products officer at Rackable Systems, said: "Delivering up to 16 cores and 256 GB of memory, the C4108 is an ideal enterprise-class solution for both database applications and for server virtualisation.

"Already VMware certified, the C4108 helps data centre operators accelerate their server consolidation plans – enabling the Eco-Logical data centre while maintaining their ability to respond to business growth."

Rackable Systems is a founding member of the Green Grid and serves federal government, entertainment and financial enterprises, as well as oil and gas exploration customers.
