Four J's Development Tools and ANTs have reached an asset purchase agreement for ANTs Data Server (ADS).
ANTs is a leading high-performance SQL database management system, while Four J's Development Tools is renowned for developing tools for business applications.
The two companies' agreement will see Four J's acquire the ADS, as well as its intellectual property rights, patents and fixed assets.
The product will be a welcome enhancement to the company's Genero product line, as well as provide a door through to a $16 billion database market.
Joseph Kozak, chairman and CEO of ANTs Software, said: "We are pleased with the agreement, which offers Four J's a strong competitive advantage in its target market and enables ANTs to build on the technologies developed for the ANTs Data Server."
He added that going forward, ANTs is in a good position now to focus on development, deployment and sales of the ANTs Compatibility Server.
