Network equipment and personal computer manufacturer Dell has introduced a new range of server racks aimed at the small business data centre market.
The new PowerEdge 4220 and PowerEdge 2420 systems are designed to increase the reach of storage beyond large data centre operations.
Each sever cabinet is equipped with more efficient power and cooling systems designed to allow them to run at a lower temperature without increasing power consumption.
The racks also integrate simplified power distribution units and new hardware for the management of cabling.
"With the launch of our new rack enclosures, businesses of all sizes can manage their data centres in a cost-effective and energy efficient way," said Dr Albert Esser, Dell's vice-president of data centre infrastructure.
He added that server racks are no longer just cabinets but integral parts of IT infrastructure.
Dell allows complete customisation of its racks and cabinets and offers a range of door arrangements.
