Data Centre & Server Rack Heat Problems Resolved

Data Centre & Server Rack Heat Problems ResolvedWith the installation density of server racks in data centres increasing, the heat generated is becoming too high for standard air conditioning to deal with, with one obvious catastrophic consequence - system failure.

This is potentially now a problem of the past with the introduction of Usystems ColdLogik water cooled Server cabinets in partnership with Eaton Williams.

Water is 3500 times more effective by volume at cooling than air, which makes it an obvious choice to efficiently cool any server rack environment.

Data centres are currently designed around a hot aisle/cold aisle rack layout principle, which allows only 3-4Kw of heat dissipation. In today's data centre environments with standard air conditioning this isn't enough. It is claimed that only 28% of the cooled air is being used to cool the equipment, leaving a high volume wasted.

ColdLogik gives data centres the option of replacing the impractical hot aisle/cold aisle layouts to a more practical, cost effective and space optimised option of a cold aisle only server rack layout.
