Cisco has unveiled plans to introduce new server rack mountable network equipment in the coming months.
The company said that its new Unified Computing blade-mount servers would be supported by a range of systems suitable for installation in server racks or server cabinets.
According to the firm, three new devices will be introduced, with all three branded as part of the UCS C-Series.
Prem Jain, senior vice-president of server access and virtualisation at Cisco, said: "The Cisco UCS C-Series provides a cost-effective entry point and a clear migration path to unified computing for our customers."
He added that the server rack mountable devices open up the UCS system to a broader spectrum of businesses.
Earlier this year, Mr Jain said that the UCS architecture allows Cisco to meet customer needs quickly and easily and provides a well defined migration path for businesses considering a future unified computing approach to data centre virtualisation.
