IT specialist Blade Network Technologies' vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Charles Ferland, is set to discuss the latest data centre developments at London's Green IT Expo this week.
The focus of Mr Ferland's talk will be data centre optimisation and improving energy efficiency.
Mr Ferland believes a number of technologies including ten gigabit Ethernet, virtualisation and multiple switching fabrics are at the cutting edge of technology in the data centre sector.
"Integrating these three elements can build a better, more efficient, less wasteful, green IT infrastructure that can meet or exceed proposed European environmental guidelines, as well as provide significant cost and space savings," he claimed.
Recently, Memset announced that it was the first British IT firm to sign up to the European Union Code of Conduct on Data Centre Efficiency.
The company's managing director Kate Craig-Wood claimed that many firms have been slow to accept the new guidelines.
