myDitto storage server 'easy for home users to set up' - Data and Server Racks

myDitto storage server 'easy for home users to set up' - Data and Server Racks The newly-launched myDitto Network Attached Storage solution from Dane-Elec has been credited with being an easy-to-use and cost-effective storage server for the home user.

Aimed at home users perhaps wary of moving their files onto cloud computing services, the new device from the French firm is capable of holding two 500GB hard drives, though this level of storage can be expanded.

Tech Eye reported that not only is the myDitto pleasing on the eye, with a slimline white case and blue glowing LED displays, it is also remarkably easy to use thanks largely to the fact that once it is set up and plugged into a home user's router the storage server needs no additional software to be installed.

"The myDitto was extremely easy to set up and use making it a good option for newbies and luddites - undoubtedly its strongest feature," the website' review concluded.

At the same time, it noted that the device is relatively noisy, while it only offers "limited options" when it comes to streaming music and video content.

At the end of July, Levono launched its ThinkServer RD230, RD240 and TD230 server rack devices.
