Creating a data centre on a small IT budget has never been easier than it is today.
According to itnews.com, taking a budget approach can save a substantial amount of money and ensure that businesses are concentrating their IT spend on buying the best network equipment.
However, the website said that while a simple containment system for server cabinets and server racks can be expensive, taking a DIY approach can be counterproductive costing more in the long run.
Containment is one of the growing aspects of data centre design and focuses on the effective redistribution of air around a facility.
The idea behind it is that a well designed data centre with strategically placed server cabinets will cost less to run.
Frame Group's data centre practice manager Greg Goode said: "You need to start compartmentalising the data centre and lock up areas where air is bypassing the normal cooling cycle."
Recently, scientists at Syracuse University teamed up with IBM to search for better data centre cooling technologies.
